• I do not know about you, but I am absolutely loving Daredevil Born Again on Disney+. I was a humongous fan of all the Netflix shows and pumped my fist in the air, opened the window, and screamed out into the world my pleasure that Marvel/Disney decided to bring them back. This has definitely been a very satisfying continuation of that so far.

So it should come as no surprise that the three issue mini-series, Daredevil Cold Day in Hell is my pick of the week. It is written by Charles Soule, who contributed the plotlines and villains that you are seeing in the current show. Also it is drawn by Steve Mcniven, a legend in his own right.

If you did not catch Charles Soule’s run on Daredevil, then I implore you to stop what you are doing now and grab them. Because of the current show some of those issues are going to be pricey, but you can find the trades or hardbacks or whatever I am sure in the wild. It is a fantastic run, and if memory serves when I was reading it, it ran bi-weekly, which was an impressive feat in itself. Soule absolutely crushed it, so not only is it a joy to see his work on screen but also to read a bit more of his Daredevil starting now.

  • Marvel and DC made quite the ripples a few weeks ago when they announced a new Marvel and DC crossover. This is not anything new of course, these two companies have combined talents and characters to great effect in the past. I still remember those two wonderful Superman vs Spider-Man stories in those gorgeous oversized formats punching me in the face. Then of course we had the 90’s, when you could vote on which character would defeat which, to great fanfare.

Some saw this coming because the two companies recently released some Omnibuses of the 90’s event, so some did sniff that something was indeed in the works. And the possibilities are indeed endless. I dare say that the Legion of Super-Heroes have been making a return, albeit in an agonizingly slow way. Will we actually see some of that Jonathan Hickman take/pitch that almost came to be?

But if you like one company more than the other on some days, and then the other one the next, perhaps this is enough to make your head explode. The news did break Curt because he just did not know what to do. Some believe him to be a robot and that this revelation simply did not gel well with his programming and for that he self-destructed. I do not believe he self-destructed because he will be back tomorrow as he always is. But I also cannot rule out him being a robot.
