    26 – Barbenheimer

It really is a special time for fans of comic books. If you told me that in the summer, we could see a new movie about the ultimate super-hero Superman, the super-hero that started it all. And then a mere two weeks later (two weeks mind you) we could see a movie about the most famous family in the world, a family that literally started the Marvel Universe, the Fantastic Four…well I would not believe you, would even declare you insane, and then banish you from the store.

But we are getting this scenario. It really is a dream come true. I will see both films multiple times. As usual, my trailer-boycott is still intact, and I am quite proud of that. So I am really going in this thing blind.

Like Curt, Superman is my favorite character. Like Curt, Thing is probably my favorite too. When I write those two sentences, I can barely keep down the amount of glee that wants to erupt from my mouth.

I am going to have a SteelTastic time.

15 – Comic Book Ninja III

The conclusion to our epic Comic Book Ninja saga, featuring the secret origin of Comic Book Ninja! Franka put it nicely. General assholery is running rampant and it is up to Comic Book Ninja to take them down!

Now, it is not all doom and gloom and we do see a lot of the more positive fandom out in the world today. But boy, the toxicity fandom is quite loud and you always wonder if there is indeed darkness before the dawn. Luckily, Comic Book Ninja has our backs.

And I think he will be busy. We have a whole lot of comic book events coming up, more specifically in the film-verse. Fantastic Four and Superman are being released almost simutaneously, and before that we have the Thunderbolts, which is obviously not following its origin as one of those shock and awe comics back in the day. When these things happen I tend to ignore everything that is speculated or people’s opinions on whether or not it will be good or bad, and leave it for the only opinion that counts to me…myself. And I think others should have this approach as well. You should never be ashamed for what you enjoy, even if you do feel like you are in the minority. It is your life after all and we only have a short amount of time on this spinning ball we call Earth. So spend it consuming everything that you enjoy and do not let others dictate otherwise.

That is the true lesson of Comic Book Ninja.

Back to the comic. A bet has been suggested and shots have been fired. How will Curt take the bait? Because Franka is obviously baiting him. Read next week to find out!
