    46 – Abduction!

    And we have returned to the store…and now you know what we all look like in color! Fun no?

    This is the penultimate page and I am quite proud of what Franka has done so far. She’s hitting her style, figuring out her style, and has her workflow pretty much nailed down. I am excited to see what 2026 will bring because I think we are in for a whole lot of fun.

    Even though this is in a two page format with the second page being the cliffhanger, we do have a cliffhanger here. What he heck is happening to to the store? Is it an earthquake? Is our gang of reluctant heroes (except for Curt of course) in trouble and will they survive?

    01 – Catalogs

    I was sitting around the store, doing some basic administration, when Franka came up to me with an idea to publish a weekly comic depicting some of the happenings around expatNERD. She is our in-house artist so of course I couldn’t refuse. But naturally a weekly obligation seemed to me to be quite a hard deadline, but she reassured me she would be able to keep it and it wouldn’t stress her out. She even used the word fun.

    I think Franka’s first attempt is good and pretty much sums up one of our most frequent customers’ exploits who always manages to make us laugh. I do expect Franka will probably keep using Curt often, if not exclusively.

    And indeed, I do see those Preview catalogs with checklists in the back, but never thought to use them. Most of our pre-orders or pull-list requests come on physical visits or a list via email. But after looking at a few I think it is quite handy because it does sum up all the various books that will be released in two months, including the specific week of their release. But I must admit, until Curt handed one over to me, I didn’t think a lot of people used them.

    I would be curious if anyone has used them and handed them over to their LCS?
